Job Summary of the Application Engineer - Brake Controls:

Application Engineer with brake system and digital and analog control implementation experience is required to play a vital role in the development of the software and safety for Electric Parking Brake controls for one of our clients in Michigan. This client is a well-known brand and supplies OEM parts across the globe. If you have solid experience in brake controls development, along with digital and analog control implementation, then this position is well suited to you.

Responsibilities of the Application Engineer - Brake Controls:
  • Perform customer level functional requirements and safety analyses such as FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Dependent Failure Analysis etc.
  • Conduct system and vehicle level performance tests
  • Work on parameter calibration and modification
  • Execute on software quality review and open issue follow-up during development phase
  • Conduct verification of control software and validation testing
  • Work on functional and technical safety requirements for electric parking brake applications
  • Coordinate between the company and North American OEMs for functional safety development
  • Provide support for systems applications as well as software development
  • Liaison with global corporate contacts

Qualifications of the Application Engineer - Brake Controls: 
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical/Computer Controls
  • 2 + years of experience with automotive control systems (brakes preferred) and  embedded software development
  • Experience working with automotive system engineering, especially chassis
  • Previous experience working with North American OEMs
  • Experience with Vector Tools (CANape) and CAN protocol
  • Experience with Electric motors (design, control, testing, modeling), sensors, switches, connectors, and ECU
  • Ability to adapt emerging technologies and finding and solving complex issues on vehicles and simulation workbenches
  • Experience with Graphical User Interface development preferably using Matlab and Simulink is desired
  • Experience in digital and analog control implementation
  • Exposure to automotive vehicle launch
  • More than 3 years of experience in functional safety environment
  • Test track experience in developing brake control systems such as ABS, Stability Control, etc.
  • Experience with development and application of electric parking brake products/systems

Salary Range:  $80,000-100,000/year, depending on experience

Location: Plymouth, MI
Type:  Direct
Travel:  Up to 20% (Domestic and International)
Relocation Assistance:  Subject to Review
Visa Sponsorship:  H1B transfers only (with 3+ years remaining). NO OPT/F1 will be considered
