Process Control Application Developer
CTG is currently looking for a Process Control Engineer for our client in the EAST TEXAS area (LONE STAR, 30 minutes north of Longivew). This is a full-time, long term need. If you do not live in the east Texas area, relocation would be required, telecommuting is not available.
Seeking an application developer with 3 to 5 years experience designing, developing and maintaining applications within a PROCESS CONTROL environment. Responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
Design, develop, troubleshoot and maintain process control systems that interface with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and other intelligent electronic devices with higher-level systems and historian databases. Knowledge of WonderWare System Platform architecture is preferable.
Implement, support and extend Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems utilizing WonderWare InTouch software.
Develop design specifications (including hardware and software requirements), application code, test plans, and user training modules.
Implement new applications and enhancements independently as well as in conjunction with other team members.
Provide timely support of critical production systems, participating in full-time, round-the-clock coverage.
Requirements:
B. S. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Systems or other computer-related field and a minimum of 3 years experience in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications. Candidates must also have a working knowledge of SQL, Oracle or other relational databases.
Other skills:
Ideal candidate should have the ability to develop and support windows and web applications interfacing dynamically with an underlying relational database (MS SQL/Oracle) using one or more of the following development languages (ASP.NET, JSP, JavaScript, VB.NET, C#).
Experience with C programming. Experience with Visual Basic (6.0 or Microsoft .NET). Experience interfacing with PLC-based control systems. Should be able to assist other entry-level engineers in supporting process control systems. Proficiency with Visual Basic, Microsoft .NET, Linux, and Java are desirable.
