Job Description
Our client seeks an experienced UNIX Engineer who will help design and implement our clients system infrastructure that is the backbone of all of our clients business. Youll be part of a team that does everything from database and storage upgrades, to building the next generation server build, configuration management, designing and implementation of single sign on and much much more.
Heres what we need:
1. Minimum 5 years of hardcore commercial UNIX experience in a production environment. We are not looking for Corporate IT Unix Admins!
2. Solid Kernal, Systems, Application and Storage tuning experience
3. Perl and Shell
4. TCP/IP and Networking Principles L2, L3, STP
5. Storage and SAN: SCSI, NFS, FC, etc.
6. Applications and Protocols: Bind, Nagios, Veritas, Apache, Tomcat, Volume Manager, Cacti, Squid, iozone, SMTP, Volume Manager, etc.
7. Open Source experience is required
The right person for this role is obsessed with automation and custom integration. This person must be comfortable with Capacity Planning of Application Stacks. Also we need someone that can evaluate software and make a business case for one over the other. Basically, we need someone who lives and breathes UNIX.
